Terms of service.
The Hirer/Client means any person or organisation dealing with the Studio or any agent, representative, servant, employee or subcontractor of such person or organisation.
The Studio means Shannon Studios Ltd, Studio 206, Unit 10 The Archives - The High Cross Centre - N15 4BE - London.
The Equipment” means all fixtures and fittings and all equipment situated in, or provided by, The Studio including, but not exclusive to, lighting, triggers, polyboards, stands, reflectors, coloramas, appliances and furnitures.
By confirming a hire, the Hirer shall be deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions of this agreement.
Hire Fees
The hire rate for every shoot is as stated on the studio’s rate card unless otherwise agreed with the Studio Managed prior to the Hire Period. All payments must be settled in full prior to the day of booking (or unless otherwise agreed in advance with The Studio).
Unless stated otherwise, all equipment available at the studio is included in the hiring price.
The hiring rates do not, and will not, include usage of paper backdrops charged £10 per meter for any floor use.
Hire Period
The Studio is available for use between 9am and 6pm at standard rates. Overtime rates of £70/hour apply. While we may be able to accommodate one hour overtime without prior agreement, anything surpassing this should be raised prior to rental or as early as possible.
We reserve the right not to provide overtime. Please note that in the case of half-day hires overtime may not always be available due to back-to-back bookings.
Equipment
a. The Studio agrees to provide The Equipment in good working order, but makes no special guarantees as to said Equipment’s functionality or suitability for The Hirer’s purposes. Any Equipment lost, damaged or stolen will be charged to The Hirer at its full replacement cost. The Hirer may not remove any Equipment from The Studio’s premises and all Equipment must be returned promptly at the end of The Hire Period and in the same condition that it was in at the start of the hire period. The Hirer is fully and solely responsible for any breakages or damage to supplied Equipment.
b. No alterations or decorations to the Studio are permitted. All costs and expenses incurred by the Hirer arising out of any breach of this Condition shall be paid by The Hirer in full, without deduction, immediately upon the Studio's demand.
c. The Hirer is liable for any loss or damage made to the fabric of the building, fixtures and fittings, furniture, appliances or equipment hired throughout the duration of the booking, unless caused by an employee of the Studio. General cleaning charges are included within the basic hire cost. If any further or specialised cleaning is required, The Hirer will pay all additional costs incurred including a 50% studio hire fee covering the day following hire.
d. All equipment supplied by Shannon Studios is checked and tested and deemed to be in good condition and in a good state of repair. It is The Hirer’s responsibility to notify the Studio of any defects or faults before the commencement of the shoot.
e. Hirer agrees to operate each piece of equipment rented hereunder in accordance with the manufacturer’s operating procedures.
f. If Hirer fails to return said equipment when due or fails to pay the rental therein, Shannon Studios may declare Hirer in default and shall have the right to repossess said equipment from Hirer and to recover all damages, accrued rental, cost and reasonable legal fees. Hirer hereby waives any claim for loss or damage from said repossession.
g. If after the return of said rental equipment Shannon Studios discovers that the same has been damaged while rented under this agreement, the Hirer shall be notified of the description of such damage and will remain liable for any amount required to repair or replace such item, and any potential loss of hire charges.
Health and Safety
a. No smoking is allowed at in The Studio and the rest of The Archives premises.
b. Prior to commencing work, Clients should familiarise themselves with the location of the clearly-marked fire exit at The Archives, the fire extinguishers provided within the building, and the first aid kit.
Cancellation of Studio Hire
A confirmed booking is not refundable. However, it can be rescheduled with a minimum of 48-hours notice before the original booking date. The rescheduled date must be within 30 days from the original booking date. Shannon Studios reserves the right to charge The Hirer the full fee along with costs incurred by the company in relation to the confirmed booking.
Privacy Statement
We take our Clients privacy seriously and will only use any Personal or Company information, and any other information received, to provide the products and services that you have requested from us and to administer your account.
Terms of Use
Use of The Studio and equipment is at The Hirer’s own risk. The Hirer hereby waives rights to seek legal redress for mishaps, accidents, and/or loss while on our premises. The Hirer agrees to leave The Studio and The Archives building in the same condition as when The Hirer arrived. The Hirer is solely responsible for any legal infractions they or members of their party commit during The Hire Period, be they in The Studio or within the Archives building.
The Hirer agrees to be solely responsible for the conduct and welfare of all persons accompanying The Hirer whilst in the Studio and/or The Archives building. The Hirer understands that if The Studio is of the view that dangerous or negligent practices or activities are being engaged in during the Hire Period, The Studio reserves the right to stop the shoot and require The Hirer and The Hirer’s party to leave immediately. However, The Studio assumes NO RESPONSIBILITY to act in such cases. The Hirer agrees to hold The Studio, its agents, representatives, and anyone acting on behalf of the Studio completely harmless from any action, legal or otherwise, that results from The Hirer’s conduct.
Save in respect of anything that cannot be excluded by Statute, neither the Manager nor The Studio takes responsibility for any loss or damages suffered by The Hirer, caused by, or arising from its use of The Studio or any Equipment. All equipment and valuables brought on to The Studio premises by The Hirer shall be at The Hirer’s own risk. It is in The Hirer’s best interests to make sure that they have sufficient insurance to cover themselves and their equipment.
The Hirer agrees to hold harmless The Studio, its owner, agents, representatives, and contractors acting on its behalf for any loss, accident, or injury to The Hirer’s self or anyone who accompanies The Hirer whilst on our premises.
These terms and conditions shall be read and construed in accordance with English Law.
